Parks, Golf, Fishing, and Hunting
Enjoy wildlife viewing and photography as you drive the three-mile, graveled auto tour through wetlands. Walk a one-mile trail along a lush riparian slough. Relax and enjoy the scenery on the viewing platform. The refuge is open year-round from one hour before sunrise to one hour after sunset.
This area offers visitors campsites, picnic sites, and a launch ramp for small boats. The River Patwin Indian tribe once lived nearby the area and in 1872 John Muir camped near what is now the park.
This 9-hole course features 3,322 yards of golf. The course opened in 1949. Ric Burgess, PGA manages the course as the General Manager and Golf Professional.
Fishing
Full-service daily in-season river fishing trips on the Sacramento River. The best run of salmon comes in September and October. The spring run is April through June. The steelhead run is from late August to the end of October, striped bass from April through June, and shad from mid-May to mid-June.
Waterfowl Shoots
Colusa is in the heart of the duck hunting country, the Northern Sacramento Valley, providing the greatest opportunity to have a successful hunt. Ducks and geese are in season October through January, Scaup from November through January, and early large Canada goose season takes place in October.
Big Game Hunts
Hunt turkey, deer, pheasant, quail, coyotes, bobcats, and raccoons on Cortina Ranch; or try a spot-and-stalk guided hog hunt.
